Hi everybody. It’s been awhile but I’m back. I’m looking for heavy men’s ring shanks, square 15 to 17 mm. In the past I bought them as sandcast, which would be fine but not necessary. So far the best I have found are sold as signet rings, but they all appear to be too light for my use. Ring size is irrelevant, though 11 or 12 would be good. All of the suppliers I used in the past are gone, understandably as that was in the late 70s early 80s. While I’m at it, I also need to find heavy oval shanks of around 20 mm or so long. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Learn to cast with delft clay and make your own. You might also see what Kevin Potter has. I suspect that what you want is a little too big for his dies. Otherwise, I can’t help you. Good luck…Rob

Why not make one and have it cast? It’s a small fee for a mold and the castings are inexpensive
