Yep. but John Prip only spells his name with one P on the end,
and the flux named after him also has only that one P on the end.
This misspelling may be partly my fault, as an article I wrote
on the subject a number of years ago, first in rec.crafts.jewelry
then later reposted to Orchid a few times, included that typo.
Realized my mistake soon enough later, but that article has been
floating out there stuttering the man’s name ever since, and
some folks, not knowing the derivation of the name, continue it.
Goes to show what forgetting to proofread before hitting send can
do…
