How to solder bail and o ring to the charm that has picture glued in to it

Hi,

by “picture”, if you mean…as in an image printed on a heat-sensitive material such as paper, then you will not be able to solder the O-ring onto the charm

you could separately solder the O-ring onto the bail, but you would not be able to then solder the O-ring onto the charm, because the temperature required to solder is too high for the paper to withstand…

it is possible to use a pulse arc welder or laser to weld the O-ring onto the charm…perhaps ask a jewelry shop if they can help you…?

I agree! With these limitations you can’t apply any heat to the object. Laser welding or precision pulse arc welding are your only options.

Cold connection? Small rivet or small tap and die for a thread in the bale (tap) and small screw made from wire (die)? I can’t see how the bale in the picture of the watch and bale is made. If this is the object the question is about, maybe the bale would have to be modified or re-made.

agree with everyone else. nothing that is heat sensitive, including stones which can be subject to thermal shock, can be safely soldered into place without removing the heat sensitive parts, then reinstalling them after the work is done…off topic but important-- so far as stones are concerned, corundum stones and diamonds are heat resistant up only up to a point… the former can undergo a loss or change in color if heated too strongly, both are relatively shock resistant, but some could crack… any other stone is very iffy…emeralds are full of cracks naturally… soldering with stones in place requires a heat sink, thermal shielding and quick work, and allowed to cool slowly…never plunge a hot stone into cold pickle or water.
