How do beads get drilled and strung?

Just curious. I recently worked with some extremely tiny beads (very
tedious) and got to wondering how the holes are drilled and how they
are strung on the monofilament line for sale. Is there someone in a
third world country sitting there stringing stones all day or are
they done by machine?

I drill tiny holes, and hand knot with silk after each bead or
pearl. After you get the hang of it, it’s almost therapeutic. Misty
