Fact: It is widely known that packages coming into New York thru
the Newark hub have been dissapearing for many years. Fedex is
well aware of it, but cannot seem to do anything about it. I
learned this first hand in 1995 ; the 1.02 ct D,Fl. round
diamond I sent to 47th street never arrived. Fedex did send me a
check for $ 100.00 for my inconvience. DO NOT SHIP VALUABLES VIA
FEDEX!!! UPS has a better track record. US mail is still the
safest (but slowest) method for insured high-dollar packages.
