Heat treated Topaz & diamond

#1

Hello all, this is my first post since my return to Orchid 1/4/99
looking forward to participating again now I am not so busy.

Heat treated topaz.

Does anyone know if there is a residual danger of radiation with
such stones in particular topaz sourced from Thailand. We have 2
sky blue topaz from there which was reasonably cheap and am
wondering ifthey were safely irradiated, any would be
greatly appreciated.

Diamond.

Best wishes from New Zealand.
Gerald.

GIA Gem Trade Labs in New York is offering this service now.
The technique is patented and owned by Lazare Kaplan in New York.
I don’t know if anyone closer to you is doing it. There is a
GIA lab somewhere in Asia I believe. Lazare, incidentally,
doesn’t offer the service except on their own goods.
