Heat conducting gel for electric wax pen

I’ve recently returned to trying to work with wax after decades.

I have an old Micro Matic from Belle de St Claire with a wide assortment of tips.

However they no longer seem to be in business, and I cannot find a source for the heat conducting gel that is supposed to be applied between the body of the pen and the various tips.

Without that, the pen does a very poor job of piercing the pink wax sheets I have. (The wax sheets are also decades old, if that factors in, although I don’t think it does.

I’d just as soon not use a flame lamp to heat up other 0other tools I have, or spend money on a different unit, and I’d appreciate any input people might be able to provide.

Thank you,

Jim Benson
