I came across this stuff recently, and I’d like to get some, but I can’t wait too long for the job I would need it for. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this stuff, and also if anyone has used other tapes/substances (besides your fingernail, lol) to mask colored stones while doing prongs with an Orion or PUK welder?

I wonder what type of protection this tape provides…Is it just a barrier against the vapor/ discoloration?…does it offer any protection from melted metal? or heat?

i have used regular masking tape, to protect pearls…ans adjacent components…

That’s what I’m wondering as well. I’ve emailed Lampert as well to ask about it, but haven’t heard back yet.
