Happy New Year to all,

I am grateful for this forum, and over the last several years I feel
that I have gotten support from peers, as we all go though the same
kinds of trials and tribulations as artists and human beings. Whether
about business or health issues, there is a lot of sharing so I feel
like I am not alone going though what I go though. Thank you all for
contributing.

All in Orchidland,

While I enter 2006 trying to process our year end inventory, 1099
tax forms and reconstruct my travel expenses for my accountant,
sometimes I have to remind myself why I chose the more difficult path
of running a school than sitting happily at my bench and creating.

I came across a quote from a hero of mine, Joseph Campbell, and it
all made sense again, in sometimes a senseless world.

  "If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track
  that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the
  life that you ought to be living is the one you are living.
  Wherever you are -- if you are following your bliss, you are
  enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.

Thank you Joseph. You reminded me why I am here, why I do what I do,
and even though we all struggle at times, it is the bliss of Orchid,
the bliss of Metalwerx and all those students who hold a saw frame or
a torch in their hand.

To everyone on Orchid and for those who share the passion of working
with their hands, I wish that you continue to explore and find your
bliss.

and wonderful forum a very happy, prosperous and healthy New Year.

With 2005 behind us and 2006 straight ahead, we feel the employment
