does anyone out there in jewelry land know of someone who hand
engraves…it seems to come up frequently for special projects and I
have had a hard time finding someone who is reasonable in price and
turnaround (is that a word?) time…Thanking you in advance for all
your wisdom…I try to read most of the posts everyday…

Rick, There are two excellent hand engravers here in the California
Jewelry Mart. try Vazken Mkhitarian at Diamond Crest Jewelers (213)
624-0684 or, Gerard Shirikjian at (213) 629-34444. I have worked with
both of them, and they do FINE work. Not cheap, but you get what
you pay for. Vazken has done for me a number of the ‘antique
reproduction’ wedding sets that are popular now, and he does them

He’s the dad of a former coworker of mine, and has been a
professional engraver forever. Over ten years ago I saw a ring
engraved with a face in profile. It was so minute you really had to
use a loupe to appreciate the detail! I’ve spoken with him briefly in
the recent past, and he was very receptive to taking on custom work.
Probably quite reasonable compared with some of the more well known
engravers, although I haven’t asked. Standard disclaimer: I have
never had any work done by him, but have seen his work.

Hello, I hand engrave it has been a hobby of mine for a couple of
years now. I would be willing to work out a price that would be
considered reasonable taking quatility of piece, size, # of words,
font and degree of difficulity into consideration. I am in Arizona

depending on their workload are fairly responsive.
