Trying to identify a maker on a sterling necklace: It’s a
shield with a slash, on one side in the shield is “L” and the
other a “F”… my guess is Mexican, but could be Danish…

If it is a shield with a L/E it is the symbol for Epstein &
Son Jewelry, Inc. 33 W. 47th St. NYC as per 1994 Brand Name &
Trademark Guide

Hejsa Gail, (as we say in Danish)
I have been through the Danish register of Hallmarks. The only
recorded user of the letters LF was a company named: H. L.
Fischer, Copenhagen. The hallmark was registered during the
peroid 1893 to 1948. So it could be a Danish hallmark you are
looking at.
Kind regards from springtime Denmark, where the daffodils now
are showing their nice yellow heads.

Good morning Niels! Just curious, are you referring to the
"Registrering Af Navnestempler for Arbejder Af AEdle Metaller
1893-1988"?
Gail
Good morning Gail
Actually my register is not the "Registrering Af Navnestempler
for Arbejder Af AEdle Metaller 1893-1988" but the “Registrering
Af Navnestempler for Arbejder Af AEdle Metaller 1893-1993” (the
most recent version) and with my own handwritten and surely not
complete comments
Best regards
Niels
