Does anyone have experience or a contact for growing custom pearls?
I’m aware this takes at least 2 years, I am looking to grow irregular
pearls using a small specific object as an irritant. Salt or fresh
water OK, would love a contact that grows high quality.

Oyster should be allowed at least 5 years to develop. The reason for
commonly accepted 2 years is that due to pollution oyster cannot
survive for more than 2 years. The layer of nacre after 2 years is
very thin and fragile. Such pearls cannot be considered as gemstones
any longer.
