Graversmith vs powergraver

hey everybody ive been working on hand engraving and i am getting to
the point that i am trying to buy a engraving machine. i am
currently wondering whether it would be worth it to invest in a
graversmith or a powergraver. the power graver seems the cheeper
option but if im going to be making a investment that large in the
first place i would like it to get something that would limit me in
future. how does the power graver deal with steel. are both systems
equally rugged or accurate. just looking for some before
i make my dicision.

Dave check out the engravers cafe web site and also firearms
engravers guild. Both have forums where professional and amateur
engravers can answer your questions. Personally I have always found
that if you buy the very best tool you will not regret it in the
future. I use an old gravermeister and wish I could afford to
upgrade to the newer more advanced systems of palm control units. Go
with GRS or Lindsay, would be my choice.

There is also a forum at Christian DeCamillis site :

and Steve Lindsay’s forum at: Engraving Forum.com - The Internet's Largest and Fastest Growing Engraving Community - Largest Hand Engraving Community, 5,216 members
There you’ll find a lot of about engraving and different
tools.

or, another selection altogether: the Lindsey Air Graver. My vote
hands down.

Awesome, but I’ll have to keep using my hand gravers until I can
afford one  CIA
