Glossy black sterling silver

Hi all,

I would like to make a glossy black silver, I know there is a black
rhodium but I wondering if can be achieved in a different way?

Orafo- I get the best polished finish on blackened silver with a
tumbler. I high polish the metal with a buff. I then oxidize it with
liver of sulfur.

I rinse the liver of sulfur off with clean water. Then I put it in a
tumbler with stainless shot and tumbler soap for about 15-20 min. It
comes out beautiful shiny black.

Have fun and make lots of jewelry.

high polish my silver pieces, tumble them with stainless steel shot
for an hour or two, liver of sulfur until black and polish with
several coats of Renaissance Wax. The wax makes a great protective
finish too.
