Get-Together During SF SNAG Conference

Hi All, Meeting so many of you at the Tucson dinner was wonderful.
Wanted to know how many Orchid members would be interested in an
informal dinner during the time of the SNAG conference in San
Francisco this year. The date of the dinner will be Friday May 23rd.
It will be a flat rate for dinner and within walking distance of the
hotel SNAG is being held at. I will have more info on the dinner
after I get a general headcount.

Hi All,

The dinner is set up for May 23rd at 7pm. The cost of the dinner
will be $25 per person, this includes tip and tax. The restaurant is
within walking distance of the hotel SNAG is being held at. If you
plan on joining us, you must let me know no later than May 16th.

While this is a causal dinner and not a fund raiser, I still
encourage you to make a donation to help support Orchid through

Hello Orchidians!

First off I would like to thank Molly for arranging dinner for us in
SF. This is proof to Orchid’s commitment to communication and
outreach, but also for SNAG itself. I don’t think I would have seen
this kind of enthusasim as short as three years ago as we are seeing
today.

Secondly, Hanuman, Charles Lewton-Brain, and myself, have finished a
huge proposal for sponsorship funding. Working on this proposal
from three countries and two continents is a testament to Orchids’
global thinking.

Lastly, You might have seen a slight lag in the delivery of Orchid.
Due to an electrical storm which wiped out the modem connection in
Hanuman’s computer, he and Ton (Hanuman’s assistant) spent the
weekend downloading and transferring files, purchased a new external
modem and have ordered the part from Toshiba which could take 1-4
weeks. It is this kind of dedication to bring you your daily dose
of greetings and which have made Orchid what it is
today. Mind you that Hanuman works a full 40+ hour a week job on
top of doing Orchid.

Please, when you come to the Orchid dinner, I want each of you to
take the time to donate. If you haven’t already donated this year,
now is the time. We need to keep Orchid growing and healthy.

To all the San Franciscan bound Orchids: We are in the midst of our
famous summer weather. Yesterday was cold & foggy, today was cold &
misty. Either day was not enticing. Bring layers of clothing, and
perhaps the sun will shine on us outside the conference, as well as

How is the signup for the Orchid dinner coming? Please tell me
again, where it is. That night is gallery night, which will be going
on until after 8. I might try to come by, but it would be late.
