This is a open letter to everyone on Orchid-Ganoksin!
Since the early days in April, I’ve had an estimated* 550 individuals *who
wanted my 'Diamond Setting Essays & Photographs". Suffice to say, I have
honoured their requests to the best of my ability, much of my time was
spent in collecting 1.185Gig’s of information. Was this a difficult task?
No, but it was a ‘labour of love’!!
What very few of you really know was that these essays were handed down to
me directly from 5 generations of Diamond Setters from starting in Ireland
(circa 1900) through to England (circa 1940’s) & now to me in Canada (circa
1965). With our “Orchid/Ganoksin” these essays & setting techniques have
now recently reached an additional 16 countries!..Whew!
I’ve been planning this task for some time & with help from Seth Rosen and
"his behind the scene’s staff". Another generation of jewellers & setters
are now reading/learning and will embrace what I have learned 55 years ago.
Along with these “essays & techniques” you might even pass this information
to the ‘sixth generation’ yourselves, one day in the future.
Why did I call this letter a ‘Mitzvah?’, it is Hebrew word for “a good
deed”, I asked for no money for this long emailing process.
I did this basically to pass on this vast amount of setting knowledge to as
many folks as I could. Apparently "a dream came true!
If anyone still want a copy of these essays, please feel free in the
asking!
