Georges' new business

Welcome back George. Good luck with the new house, the new kitchen
and the new business. When I remodeled my kitchen I had it torn
down to the studs, the windows removed, my table saw in the living
room and a screw jack ready to lift the center of the house two
inches to put in a new support wall. It was at this point I had a
motorcycle accident, very bad timing. That was years ago and its
funny now. I hope you have better luck than me.What’s this about a
new business? What was wrong with the old one? Hopefully you have
wised up and gotten out of the jewelry business.

thanks mark only a few blood blisters, thank god i never
bought a motorcycle, i’d certainly be dead by now. our most
ambitious structural thing we did was a flush header. everything
took a couple of months.

well, the old business was pretty much all tradework in the city
of bakersfield (southerly central california), i had an assistant
that handled most of the ring sizing, retipping, etc. while i did
custom orders, setting and handled the clients. nothing wrong with
all that but i felt that i needed other challenges…boy, have i
got them now. i’ve always wanted to make what i wanted and was
never extremely certain what that ‘what’ is, but now i’m working on
it. we’ll see what develops. i’ll be developing my own line,
taking on appointments for custom orders and repairs from the
public, and immediately (hopefully) pick up a few ( two is the
limit)trade accounts. my wife and i are originally form l.a. and
we wanted to be closer to our respective parents, hers are moving
here to ventura as we have, which will be really nice.

as for wising up, i’m afraid i might never be that smart. call me
dumb but i’m having fun
