Gemstone dealer rec- portrait cut moissanite

Hello, does anyone have a recommendation for a gemstone supplier that sells portrait cut moissanite?

Ideally online.

Thank you
Eva

Eva — a couple of things worth knowing before you order portrait cuts, whoever you end up buying from.

Portrait cut is a thin slab with a flat table and no pavilion to speak of, so almost none of the usual moissanite talk applies: there’s no fire to judge, no “D/VVS” that means much, and a GRA card tells you nothing about the piece in front of you. What matters is (1) the thickness — ask for it in mm, and ask whether it’s consistent edge to edge, because a slab that tapers won’t sit flat in a bezel; (2) surface polish on both faces, since you’ll see straight through it; and (3) whether the edges are chipped, which is where thin slabs fail.

Ask any seller for a short video of the actual stone against a printed page, not a stock photo. If they won’t film the stone you’re paying for, move on.

Full disclosure: I supply moissanite melee (calibrated rounds and fancy shapes, not portrait cuts), so I’m not the answer to your question — but the same “film the real stone” test is how I’d vet anyone, including us.
