Hi all,
i randomly looked down at the “suggested topics” section, and saw “1 new topic”…so i clicked on that, and saw the post “Ganoksin new website” in the “site feedback and questions and FAQ” section…which i dont often check…
the post mentions an email sent out, about a new Ganoksin website, and the need to sign up for membership…existing members will have current fees grandfathered…
i did not receive this email…would someone please fill me in in the details?

Here was the First e-mail:
"Sometime next week you may notice that things will look a little different at Ganoksin. We’ve been hard at work building a new website for you with new features, new designs, and more! We’re so excited to show it to you, but it still needs a little more work. Watch your email for announcements about our new home!
In the meantime, here is what you need to know: membership benefits are going to get better, but that means we also need to (slightly) increase our prices. However, to thank our members for helping us build this incredible community, current members will get their plan’s new benefits AND keep their current pricing until they cancel.
So what does that mean?
If you aren’t a Ganoksin member yet, now is the time to join!]

"Wow! What an incredible response to our announcement yesterday that we are launching a new Ganoksin website next week!
We had so much interest in Ganoksin membership that it crashed our website. We are so sorry about that! We are back up and running.
But that’s not why I am writing. I want to explain our new membership plans to you, so I made this handy chart:
The biggest change will be to the Gold and Platinum memberships, which will now get unlimited access to Premium Content and our new courses (no more buying individual videos). Platinum memberships will get more visibility through our re-designed Business Directory and the opportunity to take their business to the next level with a discounted Annual Pro membership to our sister site, the International Gem Society.
The old price structure will be in place until next Tuesday, February 14. After that, the new prices will come into effect.

Yes, you are correct, as long as you are still paying each month or yearly, your Membership Fee will stay the same…

"Yesterday I sent you an email with a chart explaining the new Ganoksin membership plans that will be released next week along with our new website. I’ve gotten several questions about the new plans. I was wondering whether you have the same questions, so I put together the list of frequently asked questions as a helpful guide.
New Ganoksin Membership Plans F.A.Q.
Why are you changing the membership plans?
Last year we sent a membership survey and received very helpful feedback. The changes reflect the feedback we received from the people who matter most - our members. For example, many members complained about buying a membership and then needing to purchase premium content like videos. We agreed with this feedback, so that is one of the biggest changes you will see in the new plans. Gold and Platinum memberships will now get unlimited access to all of the premium content.
Why are you increasing the prices?
Another important piece of feedback was that we needed more video content on a wide range of topics. We are making big investments in producing new content on the topics you want to learn about. We need to (slightly) raise our prices to pay for the production of the new content, from instructors to editors to managers.
How do I take advantage of a new plan’s benefits?
There is no action required on your end. If you want to keep your current plan, you will automatically receive the upgraded benefits on the day they are launched.
Will my membership fee increase?
No! As long as you are an active member by February 14, you won’t renew at the higher price. You can keep that price until you cancel.
Can I upgrade now under the old prices?
Yes! For example, if you are Silver member and want to upgrade to Gold in order to receive unlimited access to the premium content, you can do that now under the price of the “old” Gold plan ($12 per month or $96 per year) until Tuesday, February 14.

My pleasure! The First e-mail was Sent on the 8th, the Second on the 9th, Third on the 10th and the Fourth on the 12th… Have you checked your Preferences and then E-mails to see if you have them turned-off? Just click on your Green “W” and then “Preferences” and then on the left side “E-mails”, you can then choose to “Subscribe” to the “Daily Digest” or one of the other options listed… I hope this helps…

Emails that respond to posts clog my in basket. Emails that deal with my subscription are different. This feels like a scam. Or poor practice. I post a lot and if I had my email notice on, I’d get 10 or 20 emails a day. NOt happy.
I signed up for gold membership, but the videos are listed at 25%, not included in the membership. Please advise.

I would just sign up for the “Daily Digest” and turn everything else off if I were you, that way you will Receive (1) e-mail at the end of the day or the next morning… I usually receive (1, sometimes 2) e-mails a day and that’s it… I hope this helps…

The New Website isn’t up and running yet, so I imagine that once that happens, that’s when the Videos will be free for Gold and Platinum Members… I hope this helps…

I would like to know what will be the status of members who came in when it was free and have been grandfathered to date. I enjoy the content and thank you for all the work put in to make the site useful.
