Fused glass

I am interested in locating a good class in fusing glass. I am in
Tennessee and have not been able to find any place close to me. If
anyone has any ideas or knowledge of classes reasonably close to me
I would appreciate the info…Thanking you in advance…

Check Arrowmont in Gaitlinburg, TN. Also, a place that has fused
glass classes as weekend workshops is the Indianapolis Art Center.
www.indplsartcenter.org. The glass teacher was just voted instructor
of the year there by the students.

Hotels in Indianapolis are quite affordable, except during big race
weekends.

Go to www.warmglass.com for a beginning tutorial on fusing/slumping
glass and a bulletin board as good as orchid! You could also post in
the classifieds that you are searching for a fusing class in the TN
area. The archives are also a wealth of And, finally,
look at the work in the gallery including some of the jewelry.
You’ll definitely get inspired, if not hooked on fusing! Good luck.

I absolutely love fused glass and fuse something almost every night.
All you need is a small kiln and some imagination. A fantastic and
affordable class is at William Holland Lapidary School.

http://www.alltel.net/~lapidary/

Class there costs $250 a week (double occupancy) and it includes
room and board (and the food is great, buffet style , all you can
eat). I don’t know of anywhere else you can go for a weeks vacation
for $250, and learn a lapidary skill at the same time from one of the
worlds best. Look at some of the teachers listed and you will see
what I mean. Addy DePietro teaches a fantastic class (about 8 times a
year) in fused glass using Dichroic Glass.

Two sources for Dichroic glass are Austin Thin Films
http://www.dichromagic.com/ and Coatings By Sandburg

Good luck and good fusing…

Love and God Bless
