Has anyone tried this mixture of plastic and wood blanks made by
a german company to carve your models(instead of carving from
wax) and getting mold made.
Hi Dilip, I tried that stuff called Protoplast here, but have not
been too happy with it. It gives off a very fine dust when it is
worked, that settles everywhere and is a headache. The guy who
does the molds and casting for me told me that for rubber molds
it is not an ideal material, as it will deform under the
pressure and temperature used. On the other hand, it works to
very crisp edges, and you can tap it and cut a thread on it.
