Freon in compressors

#1

Kevin, great info about air compressors. Recycling and reusing,
finding new uses for things is SUCH fun. However, in the case of being
around freon, there is one item people should know and consider as they
proceed .

Freon, when heated to very high temps, such as torch heat, it is
transformed into phosgene gas - nerve gas. And, one more lil problem.
In the U.S. it is illegal to vent freon into the atmosphere. But if
I were doing that project, I sure would want the freon out of the
system before putting my face into any welding… Geez, call me the
wet blanket…(but I like your idea!)
