I am doing some anticlastic forming. I’ve been told that there
is some sort of archaic jewelers foot pedal operated hammering
device that could be very useful to me. I’m not sure what they
are called but they appearantly were made mostly in the
Providence area. Anyway, does anyone know where one can find one
of these things…or what they are called for that matter…

Possibly you are refering to a kick-press, which is just what
you describe. The jewelry Mfg in Pawtucket RI that I once worked
for had several- they could be set up with various dies to do
repetative jobs. Try calling Gold Machinery (on the web).
