Finding training programs in central Florida?

I may be relocating to the Orlando, FL area. In Baltimore, I have
access to a number of facilities to learn new techniques (MICA,
Gemcutter’s Guild, Caldron Crafts, to name three).

If I do move, are there any comparable programs or facilities in
Central Florida?

Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth,

I would like to suggest that you join the Florida Society of
Goldsmiths. We are not limited to the state of Florida, with
approximately 30% of our members living out of the state and few out
of the country. We host workshops in Florida, as well as Georgia,
and North Carolina.

Our monthly meetings provide networking opportunities as well as
exchange of and usually a short demonstration. We have 5
chapters within the state and many of them have studio space
available. Our quarterly online newsletter, as well as a membership
directory, will help put you in touch with people in the Orlando
area. We also have a lending library of books and videos available
by mail for a small charge.

Please see our website www.FSG4U.com for all the opportunities that
we offer as well as the membership application. Feel free to contact
me if you have any questions.
