Re filigree… I agree completely with those who advise against trying to
cast or stamp it out. I visited a filigree production center a few years ago
about 50 miles outside of Ankara, Turkey. Everything, and I mean everything,
was done by hand and they produced beautiful filigree. It is very tedious
work but not difficult. I have tried a hand at it since and find that having
seen it done by the masters made doing it much easier. A little practice and
you will be churning it out.
