[Favorite tips] anti flux

cheap anti flux If you need to solder fine chains or near a hinge and
do not want the solder to flow in the links, or hinge. Make an anti
flux paste of Paris red polishing compound. If you have the polishing
compound as a wax stick (most common), scrape some of mix it with
turpentine, white spirit, or some cleaning petrol. Make it the
thickness like paint, and apply with a small brush. First apply the
flux for soldering, heat up the object to let the flux dry. Than
apply some anti flux in the hinge, or on the parts where no solder
may flow in. Now you can solder without being afraid of melting
everything together. An empty nail polish bottle is perfect for
storing some anti flux.
