Someone recently brought wiserep.com to my attention. WiseRep says it
brings together sellers and wholesale buyers, and would be a market
for jewelry, among other products, including handmade, one of a kind
jewelry. The cancellation terms stated on the web site seem very
restrictive so I thought I’d ask if anyone else has experience with
this company and web site.
We were contacted by them and we decided that they were very new and
we wanted more references and time before looking into it again but
it was interesting.
I could see retail customers finding this site, seeing this price
and then trying to bargain with the retailer (or you if you do
retail as well) for a better price “well I know what the wholesale is
and I don’t want to pay your 2.5 markup!”
I guard my wholesale prices very carefully.
There’s really not any high end American made product on there
either.
Thanks for the advice, especially about guarding your wholesale
prices. You’re right, I would not want my retail prices to constantly
be circumvented. I’ll wait on contacting these people.
Meanwhile, I found out today that I’ve gotten into a local craft
show - my first one - and I’ll be busy for the next few weeks making
more jewelry to sell. Don’t know about other places, but most shows
here say “Sorry, we’re not accepting any more jewelry vendors - we
have enough”
