[Exhibit] American Woman sculpture in Colorado Springs

For those Orchidians in Colorado…

At the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society, annual Pike’s Peak
Gem and Mineral show, June 23 and 24, there is going to be a special
exhibit of the marble carving “American Woman” by Colorado artist
Francisco. This life size sculpture is carved out of a 21-ton block
of marble from the Yule mine in Marble, Colorado. This is the same
mine that produced the block of marble for the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier in Washington, D.C. When the exhibit opened in Tucson this
year there were a thousand people waiting to see it.

P.S. I will have a booth at the show so don’t forget to stop by. I’m
the big guy with a bald head, pony tail, beard, wearing a massive
turquoise bracelet, and walking funny. Hard to miss me…
