Engraving characters

I am a relative noobie, mostly having done primarily cold-forging. I
have a silver band (.900) that is roughly .25" (6.3mm) wide (size
12.5) and I am wanting to engrave roughly 60-65 characters on the
outside in a legible format in 2 sentences. Is this possible?

Hi,

If you are willing to start over from a wax model, cad-cam might be
the way to go. I have a cad-cam milling machine that could do this
work quickly, but only on wax. Otherwise, you would have to find an
engraver. My charge for work of this type would be roughly $125-150
for the wax. (Including labor and running time etc… Only add for
express shipping should you need it.)

thanks and good luck!,

This is certainly possible to do by hand. The advantages are that
the engraving will be deeper, so it will last longer. The ring could
accommodate 2 narrow lines, or possibly done in a single continuous
line, depending on the style of lettering. Block would be easier to
read for this type of work, but script can be very elegant.
