Enamel bead safety issue

Howdy Bob, At those temps UV is not an issue. IR could very well be,
especially on larger (more like lampworked size or marbles) pieces
and ,of course depending on frequency of exposure and distance from
flame/bead. If you wear magnification the safety issue is probably
worse. There is an inverse square law working here too. Exposure
to ‘near’ molten glass gathers of 1 inch diameter at 10 inches could
be problematic but 20 inches OK. The reduction in sodium glare is
enough of an advantage to make the glasses a wise investment, just
select all your colors BEFORE starting. I learned the above from my
wife and her books. Reply and speak to Becky for more info. She’s
done a lot of business with Arrow Springs and other companies.
