Electroetching silver

Hi everybody.

I’m new to Ganoksin and truly appreciate the wealth of information
available. I’ve done some searching, but haven’t found much
about etching silver using electricity to speed up the
process. Someone just gave me a used plating device (Rectifier by
Pepetools) and I would like to learn to use it for etching rather
than for plating. Anybody know how to do this or where I can find
instructions?

Thanks, Barbara

G’day; Connect the positive wire to the object and the negative to a
piece of stainless teel - old knife? Use sodium bisulphate or
sulphate as an electrolyte; strength relatively unimportant. Adjust
current to give the best etch.

Cheers for now,

Sodium bisulphate=Sparex #2. (American safety pickle.)

FWIW,
Brian.

Also available as Ph Down or Ph Minus in swimming pool, drug,
