Maybe this is a nutty idea, but I’m one of those amazingly
uncoordinated people, and I like my earposts to “stand up” on
their own for soldering. When I DO make my own, I melt a little
ball on the end of the post wire, then drop the wire (holding it
vertical) through a close-fitting hole of a cheapie drawplate.
Then I whack the little ball with a hammer. Viola, I have a
’soldering pad" on the end of my post. Too much trouble, for
sure…
