Ear Backs for Arthritic Fingers

Hi to all

I have been getting much interest for designing Jewellery
findings for t he desabled. The interest stems from some cutlery
I designed and made for my Mother after she suffered a stroke.

The problem I find is the size (you ladies know all about that).
A 0.9mm dia’ wire about a cm long has to be manouvred into place
and a tiny scroll or butterfly has to be placed correctly onto
the wire. This is fine for y ou and me, but for the elderly and
some younger people I know this can be a nightmare.

The size of the jewellery findings can not be changed too much.
So I suppose the best idea so far is a little gadget that holds
and clips the earring into place.

Has any one out there have any suggestions for me?

That sounds like an Omega back to me- a spring wire back
attached to a pierced earring instead of a separate clutch.
