Dust cyclone

I am considering installing a cyclone separater in my dust collection
system. They are supposed to remove 99% of the particulate matter and
make it easy to recover the precious metal fines. I would appreciate
any thoughts on this plan. While there are many cyclone manufacturers
as well DIY plans, look at the Dust Deputy or Super Dust Deputy at

I am considering installing a cyclone separater in my dust
collection system. They are supposed to remove 99% of the
particulate matter and make it easy to recover the precious metal
fines.

They work well on particulates not so good on the fluff from buffs
but I use one in my bench suction system and it prolongs the life of
the filter. But you must remember that like anything you put in
front of the blower they reduce the velocity and flow through the
system so you may need a bigger blower to accommodate one.
