Drilling coral

#1

I have about a pound of nice Mediterranean coral chunks about 1/2"
cylinders. Does anyone know where I could get it drilled?

#2

Coral is easy to drill with ordinary steel drill bits. Just try it.

#3

How do you want it drilled? Across the diameter to make a drop sort
of bead, or through the length ? More would be useful.

And wear a mask!

And use a good dust collector as well as a mask. The mask protects
you while you’re drilling. The collector keeps the dust from
collecting on studio surfaces.

#6

Tampa Bay coral is very hard. You will have to use several diamond drill bits for some drilling of this material.
