One little thing that John Burgess just touched on was finishing
your hole. As the drill gets close to the other side of the agate go
slowly and carefully to prevent chipping. Also, I know people who
will drill a little dimple on the underside, then turn the piece over
and drill from the front to avoid the chipping problem
