Dix Gold

I’ve always been curious . . . what is “DIX GOLD?” I’m assuming
it’s some sort of Jewelers brass with an bit of copper in it?
Not worth much more than other non-farris (sp?) metals . . . ie:
brass, copper or nickel-silver??

Thanks (in advance) for any info!!!

You’re right. Dix gold is just brass with some copper in the
alloy, similar to red brass and other brass alloys with copper.
However, I use a lot of brass and silver and the Dix Gold seems
to tarnish before it even leaves the buffing wheel where the red
brass from IJS to T’bird takes a little longer. Needless to say
I don’t use Dix gold!
