Opinions on self-contained dust/fume collection units as opposed to
outside vented hoods? I am looking at the Quatro line that Ottofrei
carries. I’m not doing high-volume soldering at the moment. Only
various silver(sterling, fine, argentium) and karat golds. Should I
invest my money into a hood and vent, or will a self-contained unit
provide adequate protection from soldering fumes? As volume
increases should one use a hood?
