In answer to David Terao’s comment: All of the ebay vendors I dealt
with had hundreds of positive feedback. The positive feedback was
generally similar. Too enthusiastic for a professional. Gerry
Galarneau hit it right on the head. When it comes to diamonds, eBay
is a low class flea market. It is easy to say “Buyer Beware” but for
the public it is very difficult to beware. Besides, for the public,
cheating aside, the prices are good. I’ve had good experiences when
bidding on electronics and other consumer items. It’s just too
tempting to cheat on such imprecise characteristics as color and
clarity. Get away with it a few times and the cheating just naturally gets worse.
