All, Yesterday the UPS man delivered a package to me which was to
have contained my settlement from the refiner. The box was laid on
the counter and I signed for it. I immediately picked it up and
discovered that it had been sliced open with a knife on the bottom
and the contents were missing. I ran out the door and caught the UPS
driver and showed it to him. Moral of the story: inspect all
deliveries immediately upon receipt. Had I not caught the courier
before his leaving I may well have been liable for the loss !
Fortunatly, my refiner is a reputable company in the Los Angeles
area and has promised immediate replacement of the many ounces of
gold that were contained in the stolen shipment.Next time I might
