Copper nails with domed head

Hi all. I took a workshop recently, during which the instructor
showed us some small copper nails with a half-dome head. They were
similar to brass escutcheon pins, but heavier. He couldn’t remember
where or when he got them. I have spent hours online and on the phone
searching for them, to no avail. I’ve talked to big-time copper
people and big distributors such as McMaster-Carr. I’m beginning to
think they may not exist any more.

Anyone out there have an idea where I could find some? Thanks.

Allan,

Here on the island the boat supply shops sell copper nails.

Search “copper boat nails” you will find rose head nails and look at
copper rivets at:

Hi Allan,

took a workshop recently, during which the instructor showed us

They sound like some of the nails used to attach leather sections to
the wood part of some chairs & other furniture.

You might try companies that cater to furniture makers/restorers &
leather workers.

Good luck!
