Contaminated pickle]

This happens to all of us unfortunately. As careful as we are it will
happen infrequently.

My standard procedure for removing the discoloration from
contaminated pickle is to use a fresh bath of cyanide. It may take
several baths to completely remove the discoloration. You can also
boric acid, warm the article to a moderate temperature and repickle
for some removal, or all depending on several factors. Go back to the
cyanide bath for any residual. I agitate and submerge for 2 or 3
minutes before making a fresh batch. Use hot water. Please contain
the spent cyanide safely too. Good luck!
