Another lurking jeweler… In the midst of all the madness life
must go on… so I would like the names of plating companies that
would cater to limited runs , 12-24 at a time ,gold plate over
silver. Any info would be helpful as I have never done this before.

Kim , I have had wonderful results with “Gold Seal Plating” in Oakland
California, and with “Cal Mart Plating Co.” in downtown Los Angeles…

I don’t know where you live but I have had wonderful work done by a
plater in Los Angeles - Cal-Mart - first they did 3 pieces for me, the
next time was about 48 and the final time 500. All were done
beautifully - it was 18k over sterling. Cal-Mart Plating Co

Hi Kim; You realize that gold plating over sterling, no matter how
heavy will not wear very well at all.

We gold plate all the time, but for costume jewelry mostly because
the base metal is probably brass, and when the gold plating wears you
still see yellow a color.
