[Classes] [San Diego] Jewelry photography

New Jewelry Photography classes begin next Saturday, February 4th,
at San Diego Continuing Ed

Dear Friends -

If you want to do a better job shooting jewelry or small objects,
there’s a photography class for you, and it starts next Saturday.

Excellent work, beautifully photographed, is the best way to attract
buyers and have your jewelry accepted for publication in magazines,
books and juried competitions.

This four-week series of Saturday morning classes will help you
improve the quality of your images,* whatever your current level of
photographic expertise*. Every aspect of jewelry photography will be
covered:

*Week 1: Cameras, Lenses & Equipment * - We’ll concentrate on basic
photography and the best types of cameras, lenses and equipment to
choose for jewelry photography. We’ll also discuss making the best
use of the equipment you already own.

*Week 2: * Basic Studio & Lighting - We’ll discuss the basics of
studio lighting, and use a simple, commercially-available “light
tent” and “daylight” light fixtures. The class will include both a
lecture and a demonstration, shooting students’ jewelry.

*Week 3: * *Advanced Studio & Lighting - * We’ll concentrate on
constructing and using a simple, inexpensive-to-make, larger studio
to completely control light on your jewelry. Tungsten lighting will
be used. The class will include both a lecture and a demonstration,
shooting students’ jewelry.

*Week 4: * *Basic Photo Editing - *We’ll use Photoshop Elements to
learn the top 10 tools I use most when editing my photographs. And
we’ll discuss the principles of photo editing as it relates to
getting published and entering juried competitions.

This is a series of 4 individual classes. Each is a 3-hour session.
You can sign up for one, two, three, or all four classes. Each class
is $15
. Since all handouts are in PDF format, there will be no
materials fees.
