Clasp for solid bangle

Can any one help with a clasp for a solid silver hinged bangle . It’s D shape wire 8mm wide and 4 mm high. I’ve made a hole and a peg to interlock the opening ends but I need to make an effective clasp to hold it closed . Would a figure of eight wire located over a peg or bead on one side of bangle. On the other side I would solder a fine tube to slip the wire ends into to make a hinge effect . I will be using the flat side as the outside of the bangle. I’ll try to post a photo but not sure how to do that . Any suggestions very welcome.
I have been making jewellery a number of years as a hobby and want to improve the quality of my work . I don’t usually sell my work, only occasionally when asked. Trish

There was a discussion early that might help you. It’s always very hard to visualize, and give good advice without pictures.
Here’s a link to the early discussion. https://orchid.ganoksin.com/t/clasp-for-hinged-bangle/71035/1

Photos of bangle not shaped yet . Outer side is flat side . .

Thank you for your response. I don’t think the examples in the link will work with the shaped wire but any thoughts would be great. Thank you

After seeing your photos I have a couple of words of advice.
A: When making a hinge it’s really important to make sure that the center part is at least twice the width of the two outer parts. Slender equal widths aways eventually loosen and are not very stable.
B: As for clasps Buy Tim McCreight’s book The Complete Metalsmith: Professional Edition. You can buy used copies all over the internet. It’s a great book.

Thank you for your advice I appreciate that. Think maybe I’ll change the hinge and do it as you suggest , better to get it right now before I do anything else .
I have the complete metalsmith , but not the professional issue so I will look for that also.
