Hi All,
I was wondering if any of you use citric acid for your pickle
solution. I have read this is a fairly non-toxic alternative but it
also takes much longer to work verses standard pickle solutions.
Any comments are appreciated.

I just started casting silver last summer, and citric acid is all
I’ve ever used. It does a fine job, IMO, and I don’t think it’s
“slow” (although to be fair, I have nothing to compare it to). I
found that it works MUCH faster if it’s really hot, so I turn on the
pickle pot about 1/2 hour before I plan to use it.
