my favorite tool was a fill-in-the-blanks artist’s statement.
choices for the blanks were all the buzzwords a critic might use in
his analysis of work. i can’t remember who sent it to us. i’m
guessing it was either charles lewton-brain or andy cooperman.

Charles L B was the culprit (or the first time I saw it). I’ve been
tempted to use it but the folks I’d send it to would not ever
understand the sarcasm. Besides they are only worth 5 word artist
statements with only very short words. With some people it is just
not worth the effort to be nice, still I try to be polite.

oh dear. i hesitate to admit it, but i have considered “wysiwyg.”
