Changing stone colors through Georgian metal tips

Enamel Art Supply has the thickest gold and silver foil I’ve found. I use it under transparent enamels to brighten them, and as a reflective backing for gemstones. When enameling, I use Thompson A-1 Klyr-Fire or Thompson Blue Stic as an adhesive. When applying foil to the back of a gemstone, I use a gelatin capsule dissolved in water as the adhesive in a process known as “Water Gilding”. You can find a description of the process here:
