Champleve enamel with Master Photo etcher

Has anyone ever used a machine called Model Master Photo etcher. is
it good for Champleve enamel? or is it available for models of more
than 4mm thicknes?

Thanks in advance.

I have one and love it. I’ve actually thought of using it for this
very purpose. I don’t think the plates come in 4mm thickness, though.
If they do, it’s a terrific tool to use for this. The edges might get
a little muddy, though, and not stay sharp-walled top to bottom.
Might work, though. I’m not sure of their website. But they have it
in the Rio catalog, I believe.

Hello Veronica,

What thickness of polymer you use normally on this case? I thought
that the most thickness goes 2.4mm ? though I am not sure…

Peter

In the Rio catalog the thicknesses are.015 and.030. That seems like
the thicknesses I got from Model Master directly when I ordered it a
couple of years ago. They might have something thicker, but I don’t
know. The.030 seems like it’s thick enough for a shallow enamel, but
I haven’t tried it yet.

I love the results I get and the fine detail I’m able to keep in my
drawings and have transferred to a plate that I can take a mold of. I
use the RTV two-part silicone goop. It works wonderfully.

Veronica,

Do you have any collections that made from this machine ? I am
currious to see the quality of its.

I wonder if the polymers can be used with vulcanizers to creat a
mold? or it only works with RTV?

I have made vulcanized rubber molds from the Model Master photo
etched plates. It works fine.
