Out of curiosity, why? Argentium is a nice alloy designed to offer
freedom from firestain and oxidation to craftspeople working with
silver by traditional fabrication or “smithing” means. The de-ox
silver alloys used for casting offer the same benefits for people
working with the casting process. Each alloy does about the same
thing, but optimized for the different processes. So why insist on
argentium? If you are casting, the deox silvers designed for casting
should give you the desired results… Check out United Precious
Metals website for more info on some of these alloys. You may find
they already do just what you want for casting.
